Ven-Con 2024 Chicago – Turning Conversations into Actions

In April, a group of 28 vendors and consultants came together to share ideas and explore ways to improve the outcomes of technology projects for the association industry.

The conversations were great at Ven-Con™ in Alexandria, but where do we go from here? Our challenge is to begin to turn our conversations into action. What better time to start than when many of AMS/CRM vendors and consultants will be together for the next AMSFest in Chicago.  See the Agenda section for more information.

Together we can forge better collaboration and drive improved outcomes for our association clients!

Preliminary Ven-Con™ Chicago Agenda

This agenda will be updated as we get closer to the event.

  • Working Together
    • Discuss using Creative Commons as the framework for developing resources and tools that may be shared jointly by Ven-Con participants to improve the association technology landscape.
  • Turning Prior Conversations into Actions
    • Discuss and begin organizing working groups to develop potential resources focused on the solutions put forth at the April Ven-Con meeting:
    • Draft pledge for Vendors/Consultants for improving outcomes.
    • Draft common RFP best practices (or alternative acquisition models).
    • Workshop how we deliver education to associations to offer a consistent message on how to execute successful technology projects.

Program runs from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  We will also be sampling some of Chicago’s finest pizza with nice cold beverages.

About Ven-Con™

Ask most association professionals about their thoughts on selecting, implementing, and managing an AMS/CRM system and you don’t find many positive experiences.  We all collectively feel like the “system” is not working particularly well.  But where do you start to make some positive changes?

Ven-Con is the first-ever group tailored for AMS/CRM vendors and consultants’ community in the association sector.  By fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective expertise, we aim to redefine the practices for selecting, implementing, and managing AMS/CRM systems to make this challenging process more achievable for all stakeholders.
